Four people from Los Angeles – two long-time friends and a newlywed couple – have been given the opportunity to take an all-expense paid trip from LA to New Orleans. The only caveat … it’s a road trip! And they have been challenged to get there most efficiently using the features inside the new Honda Insight. What will they encounter along their journey? Jamal works full time as a computer programmer and also runs a gadget blog on the side in his free time. He’s always up on the latest in technology and is the go-to guy among his friends for anything and everything high-tech. Jamal tends to be the responsible one among his group of friends, but is always up for a good time.

Leebo works in a restaurant as a waiter and has a unique passion for anything food related. He and Jamal grew up next door to each other and have been best friends since they were kids. In his spare time, Leebo enjoys hiking, camping, traveling and simply “living” life to its fullest.

Zoe has a career in interior design and grew up in Southern California. She is specifically interested in green culture and sustainability and tends to be the adventurous one in the relationship. She and Mike were recently married but have been together since college, where they first met at a local charity event.

Mike is a social worker in Santa Monica. He originally grew up in Texas and has a love for the outdoors. In his spare time, he also enjoys traveling, meeting strangers and making people laugh. Given his wife’s background, he has also recently taken an interest in learning more about “going green”.

Episode 1: Los Angeles, California

Jamal, Leebo, Zoe and Mike are first introduced to the Honda Insight and are given the official rules for their upcoming “Adventures in Efficiency: LA2NOLA” road trip challenge.

Episode 2: Joshua Tree National Park and Cabazon, California

Joshua Tree National Park and Cabazon, California

Zoe and Mike make their way to Joshua Tree and stop to admire the gorgeous surroundings. Mike is slightly distracted by his new discovery of “tweeting”. Jamal and Leebo find themselves lost near the border of Arizona.

Episode 3: Yuma, Arizona

Yuma, Arizona

Zoe and Mike have a minor disagreement on their drive to Yuma and Zoe decides it’s time to teach Mike a lesson. Mike finds himself in for a surprise when he notices his photo on a “WANTED” sign at the Territorial Prison National Park.

Jamal and Leebo visit the Saihati Camel Farm, where Leebo discovers he’s the king of road trip bingo, while Zoe and Mike spend some time relaxing in New Mexico at the Riverbend Hot Springs.

Episode 5: Roswell, New Mexico

Roswell, New Mexico

Both teams meet up unexpectedly at the International UFO Museum in Roswell, where Jamal is trying to convince Leebo that aliens do exist. The teams make a pact to reconnect again in New Orleans at the end of the trip.

Episode 6: Austin, Texas

Leebo challenges Jamal to finish a 72oz. steak in under an hour at The Hoffbrau in Austin, while Mike believes that he can romantically impress Zoe under the city’s famous bat bridge.

Episode 7: New Orleans, Louisiana

New Orleans, Louisiana

In this final episode, both teams meet up at a local restaurant to share stories about the adventures they’ve encountered along their drive from Los Angeles to New Orleans ... and more importantly, who won!
